More Interview Tips
As a long overdue follow-up to my interview tips article from 2006 (yes, I said it was an overdue follow-up, heh) I'm going to address some of the most common points and questions that have come up since then. Some of these are based on comments I've...
I'm busy trying to decide which article idea should be my next one...
... so in the meantime here's a picture of some LOLcats. We're in your computer phishing your Internets. Or something.

Apologies for the downtime
As you can maybe see, the time was spent wisely upgrading to the newest version of the blog software. I'd love to pretend this was a planned upgrade, but the incentive to get this done was a stupid mistake on my own part that led to the site being...

Well I guess we all knew it was coming but it's still pretty stunning
! If you've been reading this blog for a while then no explanation of my thoughts on this are needed. If you're new then I doubt any explanation is possible. Apple's iPod is just a MP3 player, sure, but it's the only one I've held that feels totally at...
Why I went Missing.
Yes, it has been very quiet around here lately, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I wanted to take a bit of a break and relax some after leaving the MVP scheme, and secondly, I just haven't had much to say. I am hoping to do a quick review of my thoughts...
Sorry about the outage this morning...
I've been upgrading this site to the newest beta of Community Server 2.1. Feature-wise I'm quite impressed, but I have to say it was a bit of a chore performing the upgrade. I'm not sure at the moment if the problems were due to the nature...

It's the content, stupid
Robert Scoble talks about the 11 rules to survive being a Web 2.0 "Dot Bomb". Robert mentions how this reminds him to watch out for his own new business (Brave move btw Rob, a long way from being a Netmeeting MVP or living in the Microsoft 'comfort zone' for sure)....

First month figures
Well, this site has had its first "full" month with the new system. We've migrated to the full version of Community Server 2.0 and I've had just over 2000 visitors in that first full month. Thank you . I always look in my browser stats when I review site...
BBC: Education standards slipping.
I typically listen to Radio 5 on the way home from work, and today presenter Jane Garvey announced with relish that "University students are graduating with 2:1 degrees and are barely literate". I guess the BBC loves a scandal, as do we all. They go on...

Open letter to 'The Sun'
UPDATE (17 Jan 2006): The Sun have written back to me, apologising for the mistake. See comments below for full text of the apology. Dear Sirs, I'd like to register my disgust at the shocking lack of bad taste your article here shows. Quite aside from...

Community Server, and new hosting!
This site is currently partway through migrating to the latest beta of community server, and also to new hosting. Please excuse any oddities while this all gets sorted out. [update] All fixed and working now I think. Many thanks go to Genyus and X.Static...

Something Kestrel
So was anyone else stunned into something between incoherent giggling and silence by the appearance of Kestrel in something positive? I was so stunned and amazed that I almost missed the return of Kim. I like Kim, partly because she reminds me so much...
